The function of variants of products, allows you to group multiple "versions" or "variants" of items into one item.
Examples: multiple sizes of shoes, multiple garments in different colors and multiple desktops in different materials, can all be managed as variants of products.
Variants have some advantages:
-
Limit product catalog when you create documents.
When you add items to the catalog, Akti is going to show only the main article. After selecting this article, you can then select the variant.
Thus you limit your catalog and find the articles you are looking for faster. -
Quickly change variants on quotes.
An action is provided on quotes to quickly convert all items with variants of a certain type to variants of another type.
Example: if the customer makes a mistake of size on a quote, you can convert all items of one size to another size. -
Separate products, yet grouped together.
By working with variants, you group articles that belong together, but each variant remains a separate article with its own translation, its own code and its own stock values.
This way, you're doing efficient article/stock management and ultimately make fewer mistakes by linking articles to each other.
Example for further elaboration:
To further explain variants of products, we will work with a specific example. You are the seller of the most beautiful shoe in the world and this shoe exists in size 40, size 42 and size 44. You're going to use the variants feature for this article to make things easier for yourself.
To get started, you need to select in the Settings Catalog Settings that you want to work with variants. You do this by activating the slider.
